If you are considering volunteering – welcome! Your help is vital to our foundation, and there are many different areas where we need your help. No matter which you choose, we think you’ll find the experience fulfilling.
Our volunteer community includes people from many different professions and backgrounds all with a common commitment to help burn survivors thrive.
Areas where you can volunteer
There are many ways you can help us through donating a block of time or being available on a request basis. Regardless of the path you choose, volunteering is a good way to meet others in the burn community and be of service to others.

Camps and Retreats
We are calling for counselors, administrative, and medical staff. If you volunteer for a camp, you’ll be expected to attend for the full duration (new volunteers must attend a mandatory 3-day in-person training). We also welcome volunteers for pre-camp set up and administration.
Local fundraising
These events are held across the state by hospitals, fire departments, and community partner organizations need AARBF team members to communicate our mission and services. This is a great way meet our AARBF team and community members with similar interests.
As a firefighter, we have such a great opportunity to have such a direct connection and a direct impact on local kids by teaching them these important safety messages and preventing burns.”

Volunteers are needed at community fairs, healthcare festivals, and community gatherings to speak about the foundation, handout information on burn safety and education, as well as demonstrate “Stop, Drop, and Roll” for children and adults.
Legislative Action Support
AARBF is committed to a safer California and access to fire and burn prevention education for all. We work with state and local agencies to try to assure accidental burn injuries become a thing of the past. Share connections and passions to help us move forward.

Take the First Step
The first step to start your volunteer experience is to complete the volunteer form and let us know the areas you may be interested in. After you submit the form a member of our staff will contact you to go over your key areas of interest.
Background Check for Volunteers
To ensure safety of our programs volunteers must provide personal information and agree to a background check for programs in direct connection to children or any of our overnight retreats, camps, and activities at your cost.
