Burn Survivor Tip Sheets
These TIP SHEETS were assembled by a caring team of burn survivors, burn nurses, and other burn professionals whose lives have been deeply touched by burn injuries and now are all associated with the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation (AARBF). We remember some of the stumbling blocks we encountered when we first began our journeys and want to offer some help to you, our new friends, companions, brothers, sisters, and burn survivor family members.
We fully understand that you may not feel ready to begin this journey yet and that’s ok. Everyone must take their own journey and we know the first step is always the most difficult. Please know that you are not alone on this voyage, others have walked this path and while it may be confusing at times, there are things along the way that are unique to burns that you may have questions about, and here, we hope you may find some answers. Significant burn injuries, while not unheard of, are not commonplace enough that information is readily available. That’s why the “burn community” comes together with such great support programs and actively works to help one another. Check out the tip sheet on Garments, and especially the one on Itching for some good practical info!
