IMPAC-Tool Information
The IMPAC Tool was developed under a two-year FEMA Fire Prevention and Safety Grant to AARBF.
It incorporates research on effective communications and factors that encourage behavior changes.
The IMPAC Tool is comprised of a Checklist and a Resource Guide:
The Checklist takes you through a series of questions to identify the intent of your message, the message’s intended audience and the actions or outcomes you would like your audience to take after they see your message.
The Resource Guide offers “bite sized” summaries from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institute of Health on how to develop an effective message. Each question in the Checklist links to relevant sections in the Resource Guide to help you get started fast, satisfying questions you may have.
