Sarah Burton joined the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation as Director of Programs in January 2010. In that role, she supports a staff of four and is responsible for the successful implementation, tracking, and reporting of burn prevention and burn survivor services provided in California. Previously, she was the Manager of Community Education and Outreach at Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA), a non-profit providing crisis intervention and prevention services for domestic violence and relationship abuse in San Mateo County. Her previous work experiences also include program management in youth alcohol and drug prevention, grants and contracts management, sexual assault crisis counseling, and a stint in Senegal, West Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
Sarah earned her BA in Business & Economics with a minor in French Literature from Westmont College in Santa Barbara. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, learning to sew, and enjoying San Francisco city life.
