Roaring
Twenties Revived for Hook & Ladder Ball
Flappers, gangsters, dames and daddies will take over the Sir Francis
Drake Hotel for a flashback fundraiser on Saturday October 3, 2009.
The Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation's annual Hook & Ladder Ball
will be a Roaring Twenties benefit to raise funds for burn survivors
and to honor Thomas Neylan of Menlo Park Fire Protection District,
recipient of the 2009 Hook & Ladder Award.
In addition
to dinner, cabaret entertainment from Elemental Remix Dance Company,
and music by the Jazz Mafia All-Stars, guests will be able
to visit the hotel's secret Prohibition Room.
The speakeasy
gala includes silent and live auctions, raffles, dancing and secret
surprises. One new opportunity in 2009 is a diamond bar,
on which 13 flutes of champagne will have gem bags attached to their
stems. One bag will contain a diamond, and the others will contain
precious and semiprecious stones such as a trillion emerald, pearl,
garnet, amethyst or tourmaline more...
