Groups: A Platform for Healing
"Since the accident, I haven't cried. Talking about the problem
is therapy. It releases it little by little," said Fermina,
mother of a 7-year-old burn survivor, who attends an Alisa Ann Ruch
Burn Foundation support group. "I try to make it every Thursday.
I like it because I feel like it releases everything I have inside
me."
For many burn
survivors and their loved ones, local support groups give a place
to share and receive much needed encouragement. AARBF's Survivor
Services team facilitates these monthly support groups at regional

Camp Mom Teddy's "Birthday"!
Camp Mom Teddy
turned 80 in January...no, not really! but it was a great excuse
for camp counselors to gather and celebrate new beginnings in the
new year.

7th Annual Bachelor Firefighter Auction will be Friday, April 24,
2009, at The Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco.
Bachelor firefighters
from all over the Bay area will work to earn high bids from the
audience, and all proceed will benefit the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.
Highest bidders will win a date with "their" bachelor
and other surprise prizes will be announced throughout the evening
