Burn Survivors Caught "The Surf Bug" at Beach Camp

Nine burn survivors ages 11-19 wriggled into wetsuits and rode waves in the 2nd annual Surf and Kayak Camp in Morro Bay, September 26-28, 2008.

"My favorite part of the weekend is the excitement the kids get the first time they stand up and ride a wave. A couple of kids got the surf bug and went out again for a couple of hours more after lunch," said Kitty "Kit Kat" Brunner, who organizes the event with her husband Mark "Bru" Brunner. Hook & Ladder Ball Sails with Success

"It was an amazing evening. We had beautiful weather. Lots of people came in costumes - sailors, pirates, Isaac from the 'Love Boat' and a whole table dressed as "Gilligan's Island" characters.
