Hook and Ladder Ball: Roaring 20s - October 3, 2009
“The Roaring 20s came to life on October 3, 2009, kicking off National Fire Prevention Week in style at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. Over 140 guests were greeted at the 1920s era hotel by a trio of classic cars parked on Powell Street. During the reception, dapper dudes and adorable dolls bid on clutch auction items, sampled local hooch, and enjoyed the music of the Jazz Mafia Quartet.
The success of this year's Hook and Ladder is measured in so many ways: increased attendance, nearly all guests were into the theme by wearing their 1920s best, fun activities like Prohibition Room visits or portraits were all the rage, great food and drinks, and guests raised over $38,000 for AARBF burn survivor services! We're extremely grateful to our supporters for making this year's Hook and Ladder a roaring success for AARBF's burn survivor community.
